KASD COPPA Compliance
Dear Parents of students under the age of 13,
Our district utilizes several computer software applications and web-based services operated by third parties. These include Google Education, Study Island, Accelerated Reader, and similar educational sites and programs. A complete list of the programs with the privacy policy for each are listed on our district website, www.kasd.net, under Information for a Parent. This list of approved sites is updated regularly, so be sure to check back often for new websites and apps.
In order for students to use these programs and services, certain personal identifying information must be provided–generally the student’s name, and sometimes their email address. Under federal law entitled the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), these websites must provide parental notification and obtain parental consent before collecting personal information from children under the age of 13. The law permits schools to consent to the collection of personal information on behalf of the parents, thereby eliminating the need for individual parental consent given directly to the web site operator. Click the link below to see the list of apps and sites that your consent allows access to.

Notify Me for Athletic/Activity Alerts and Reminders
KASD will be using “Notify Me” for most athletic cancellations as well as schedule changes. “Notify Me” can also be used for alerts and reminders for KASD Athletic practices for any KASD sponsored sport. Another great feature of “Notify Me” is the ability to also send reminders about ANY activity/event going on in any facility at the Kane Area School District. Self-Update Portal for One Call Now
One Call Now is used for KASD Emergency Alerts as well as reminders for events in the Kane Area School District.
Click the link below for the Self-update portal to add additional phone numbers or e-mail addresses. You should always contact the school your child attends for any phone or e-mail changes. The self-update portal is to add additional numbers/e-mails and/or to customize how the system contacts you.

Student Registration/Enrollment
Required to Enroll:
- Proof of Child’s Age – Birth Certificate, PA issued ID or Passport.
- Current Immunization Record
- Proof of Residency – current utility bill (gas, electric, water, garbage) government photo ID, passport, credit card statement, property tax bill, vehicle registration, driver’s license or Lease Agreement (must have address, date and signatures.)
- Home Language Survey (form will be provided)
- Act 26 – Parental Registration Statement will need to be notarized. You will need your government photo ID for the notary, located in the District Office. (form will be provided)

Sports Physicals
Spring Sports Information 2026:
Spring sports forms are available in the health offices and KASD website. Any students needing a physical or doctor clearance for recertification must turn forms in by 2/24/26. The School Practitioner will be doing physicals/recerts on 2/26/26. First day of Practice is March 2, 2026
